Chimpanzee Trust was founded in 1998 as an international collaborative conservation effort with the immediate purpose of establishing a chimpanzee sanctuary on Ngamba Island in Lake Victoria. Action for Cheetahs in Kenya (ACK) is a long-term project that was initiated through support from the Cheetah Conservation Fund in affiliation with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).
