Nairobi, Kenya – 24th March 2025 – The TonyWild Foundation is thrilled to announce that our founder and executive director, Anthony Ochieng Onyango, has been featured in BBC Earth’s latest series, which celebrates and spotlights a new generation of photographers capturing the beauty of their local wildlife. Anthony is among six incredible photographers from across the globe, each passionate about capturing the beauty of our planet’s wilderness.

This recognition highlights Anthony’s dedication to conservation and marine photography and his mission to inspire environmental stewardship through visual storytelling. His feature in the BBC Earth series showcases his ability to bring Africa’s diverse ecosystems to life, using powerful imagery to advocate for biodiversity conservation and sustainable coexistence with nature.

In addition to the main series, In Search of Nature, BBC Earth has launched Framed in Nature, a companion series that delves into the technical aspects of wildlife photography. Comprising six episodes of six to eight minutes each, Framed in Nature offers viewers an in-depth look at the camera equipment, settings, and post-processing techniques used by expert photographers like Anthony. The series is designed to inspire everyone, from amateur smartphone users to experienced photographers, to explore their local environments and try their hand at wildlife photography.

“I am honored to be part of this incredible series that brings together some of the world’s most passionate wildlife photographers,” said Anthony. “Photography has the power to change perspectives and ignite action. Through this feature, I hope to encourage more people to connect with nature and use storytelling as a tool for conservation.”

This feature was made possible through a collaboration with Ngoteya Wild, with Edger Edward Msyani filming Anthony’s section. The documentary is part of In Search of Nature and Framed in Nature, two wildlife photography series produced by Aurora Media Worldwide, an All3Media company, for the Diamond award-winning YouTube channel BBC Earth and the BBC Earth Explore channel.

As a National Geographic Explorer, board member of the Conservation Alliance of Kenya (CAK), and an Emerging League Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP), Anthony continues to push the boundaries of conservation storytelling. His work focuses on reshaping Africa’s environmental narrative, fostering appreciation for biodiversity, and inspiring the next generation of conservationists.

The TonyWild Foundation remains committed to using storytelling, science, and education to drive conservation action across Africa. Anthony’s feature on BBC Earth is a testament to his impact and the organisation’s ongoing efforts to create a more sustainable future for wildlife and people alike.
